I come from a family that loves animals, starting with my grandma who was an animal rights activist when she was young. Keeping my grandma's loving spirit in mind, I decided to adopt an animal rather than buy one from a pet store. I knew I was doing the right thing by giving a home to an animal in need of loving care. With just a small adoption fee, I made a big difference and I DEFINITELY encourage you to do the same if you ever decide you want a furry friend! You're doing a great deed, it's fast, it's easy and the shelter helps you find the animal that best matches your personality type. The shelter also offers information sessions, manners classes for dogs and many other products and services to help make owning a pet an extraordinary experience :)
Now my family is the proud owner of two ADORABLE kittens (sisters!). Although they live with my parents, they are still my pride and joy EVERYDAY and we don't regret a thing. And I go home a lot on the weekends to see them :)

Here are some pictures of Judy & Liza- our kittens (The shelter named them after Judy Garland & Liza Minelli. My grandma LOVED Judy Garland so we "HAD TO" buy them in memory of her... Long story short!).

Yay for adopting! My boyfriend adopted a rabbit last summer. We're both big dog people, but no dogs allowed where we live on campus, and since he's allergic to cats, a rabbit seemed like the next best option. They were really excited too, since rabbits apparently take longer to get adopted. I also love to visit every few weeks and see all the animals. I especially love going back and seeing that they're no longer there and have been placed into loving homes! Cute pictures!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know about your work with the Brewers. I know Johnny Steinmiller. Wonder about their future without CC. They need to get up there one of these years. I have an old scardy cat - 17 years old! And Cats is my favorite Broadway show - especially "Memories." I was in Northwestern's WildCAT band, turned the wrong way one time, and had to hold the cat's whiskers
ReplyDeletefor the rest of the season instead of playing my trombone. Love your blog!
